Circus performer and aerialist Lindsay Culbert-Olds on a freezing afternoon in Montreal. I discovered this location spontaneously. Lindsay attached her strap to the light and I shot quickly, praying nobody would open the door.
My versions of a “family portrait” with the Schwartzes in Montreal, celebrating the things they enjoy as a family.

"Le Petit Parisien" by Willy Ronis is one of my all-time favorite photographs. The photo’s childlike joy and wonderment was an early inspiration for my work on Dancers Among Us. Last November in Paris, I had the great fortune to recreate this image with Derek Dunn of Houston Ballet. Now, one of my favorite photographs has become one of my favorite Dancers Among Us photos!

This photograph of Dancer Among Us Lexie Overholt of Miami City Ballet submerged in her pool in South Beach, FL inspired a fun drawing by Instagrammer, Colin (@cjkrikac).
Are you as adventurous as Lexie? I’m looking for a new studio manager. Underwater skills are optional, but a sense of adventure is not. Click here to apply: http://bit.ly/JMPStudio
It’s going to snow tomorrow…AGAIN. Thank you to all the dancers (and Cricket the Dog) for braving the snow and frigid temps with me over the last several weeks: Rebecca Tew Balbach, Maria Sascha Khan, Michelle Joy and Michael McIlwee, and Lee Katherine Fink. I’m sure there’s more (snow) to come.
Behind the scenes photos (in order): Brandon McCowan, Michelle Joy, and Francesco Fiondella.
